It's Pittsburgh Now :)

My family and I drove 45 minutes from Grove City, Pennsylvania to visit Pittsburgh - the second largest city in the state of Pennylvania.

First shopping stop was Macy's! I'll show you in an upcoming post the couple of things I got!

A very cool & old weighing scale in Macy's

I saw this and thought, "Charles, are you a cousin of Calvin?"

The rest of this post consists of numerous random pictures I took of Pittsburgh. I LOVE the architecture in Pittsburgh - how there's many old buildings and many modern buildings too.

Cool! Some plants growing along a wall! Very nice. And we realized quickly PNC is a huge bank.
Gosh I have to say, in the States they have many banks! In Canada we have just five major banks.

Churches often have the most beautiful architecture.

Oooo red doors on a Church

We thought the top of the HighMark building was cool.

Love the rooftop detailing

And this rooftop

And the red rooftop on that building in the far right

This reminded me so much of Old City Hall in Toronto

So many small window frames

I liked how this building's walls are orange stained - from the acid in the rain and/or pollution?

This building has that quilted design, don't you think?!

This building reminded me right away of my love, Evgueni. We have both invested in Alcoa

My older sister and I thought the all reflective glass building was neat

Super pretty pattern on this building...

Cool bridge huh?

Look at the roads going up the hill

And look at the houses on the hillside. My parents said it reminded them of the years they lived in New Zealand.

Look at the side of the building. Sheesh, reminded me of a blush or highlighter with different strips of powder colour ;)

Really low prices for crazy amounts of candy

Oh and I noticed a bit of neat graffiti

Ahhh, and we landed at another mall of course. An outdoor mall called Southside Works

Spot the Forever21 store? Got a couple of things from there too!

My sisters didn't seem to think this was news but to me, this was the first bug zapper I've seen! Wow, it's like a fly swatter with a light electric volt through it.

Haha - see the warning "Not a Toy!" Imagine some kid running around smacking people with it!

After shopping, we went to Hofbrauhaus for drinks & dinner :)

I was not impressed with their premium lager. And their light beer was worst.
Still can't beat Keiths (regular) or Sleemans (honey brown ale) in my books :)

On the drive home after our dinner

What is your city known for?
Is the city you live in more modern or classic in architecture? Maybe both?
