Review and How-To: Broadway nails

This review and mini how-to on Broadway Fast French Nails was requested by London's Boutique

I like the medium length nails and I agree that once you get the hang of it, it takes about 10-15 minutes to do your own nails

I do not use the nail glue that comes in these kits because I find that the quality is poor (the glue is not very strong or lasting). So I buy any Nailene Ultra Quick Nail Glue and use that instead

***My advice for beginners is to buy a non-fast drying glue like the Nailene So Natural Gel Glue instead of the Ultra Quick ones that I like. This is just to give you those extra 10-15 seconds to help give you more time to place the nail on correctly and to prevent quick bonding of your fingers by accident.

The biggest challenge for me when I first started doing my own nails was glueing my fingers together and making a mess of the glue. It sounds crazy but because the glue I use is fast bonding and strong, it's actually very easy to glue your fingers together by accidental contact with excess glue (hence my advice)
So always keep nail polish remover, paper towel and extra q-tips nearby in case that happens

This is what comes in the pack: 24 nails in 12 sizes, glue, a manicure stick, a q-tip

I follow the directions shown in the pictures (above) and in wording (below) to a T

The only challenge I have now is just minimizing any air bubbles completely and I find that following these instructions is key (especially the part that says to spread glue on both the back of the artificial nail that comes in contact with your nail, as well as your own entire nail bed)

I pre-size all the nails and place them in order like this before I start application
As the instructions indicated (and which I had to do here), if you cannot find a perfect size for your nail, use an emery board/nail file to file down the sides of a slightly larger artificial nail until it fits right

I spread a thin layer of glue on the back of the artificial nail (only on the part that will come into contact with your nail so you can see I did not apply glue along the back of the french tip part in this case) as well as applying a thin layer of glue on my own nail bed

I've seen youtube videos advising to "slide" the artificial nail onto your real nail in order to avoid air bubbles - I tried it. It's messy and it doesn't help at all to prevent air bubbles

I apply the artificial nail just like it explains to do so in the instructions - line up the cuticle of the artificial nail to the cuticle bed of your own nail and then press down

One nail done

Now one hand is done!

I just love the polished look that artificial nails give me - and it really elongates my fingers in a nice way
I get the hang of the length very quickly and once you've tried doing your nails a few times, it gets easier and easier
My manicures last a full 5-7 days using the type of Nailene glues I recommended
I hope this has helped you a bit :)

If you have any questions, please let me know

Do you use artificial nail kits at home?
